Experienced front of house staff for on-call catering delivery work
Bite Catering Couture is looking for thoughtful and detail-oriented catering delivery staff experienced in handling catering orders and navigating large corporate complexes and high rise apartments + helping clients setup for their event. Depending on the client need this may include a full event server/ bussing role.
This job is normally a great fit for experienced catering front of house staff. We deliver at a high standard and provide a high level of service while following a detailed pickup and delivery process. It's an on-call role where you can accept delivery shifts that fit with your schedule.
Bite offers a boutique catering company with an extensive delivery menu and clients all over the Los Angeles area. While we know live events may not unfold exactly as planned, we do our best to remove the errors, mistakes, and "winging-it" that cause unnecessary stress at events done by other companies. The tradeoff is participating in said process - we have pretty extensive expectations around checking out from the kitchen with the order, any onsite requirements around parking and security, being helpful to the client at the time of delivery, and checking out in a way that ensures that all expectations have been met successfully.

Success in this role generally looks like:
- Experience serving in front of house teams at high end events
- Understanding of 5 star service
- Experience in delivering and setting up catering for up to 100 people by yourself (using carts, navigating office buildings and security)
- Great judgement in live scenarios
- Ability to buy into an established process
- A car well suited to small to mid-size deliveries (sedan, SUV, cybertruck?)
- A great aesthetic to help our clients in plating food on their platters and using boxes/ risers to give height, appeal, and other presentation elements that make the food more accessible and appealing.

The role
This is an on-call catering delivery position. This is not a "drop and dash" type of role... we depend on our drivers to make sure that they've left with the entire order and that the client is set up for success prior to leaving them to their event. Remember, our clients may be responsible for ensuring groups of 25-100 people can do what they gathered to do, so we need to make sure we've done our part well.
Depending on your interest and availability, most of our drivers also work in other front of house event roles at our company.

As mentioned, we're pretty detailed for the industry. So expect to get pretty detailed information about what type of event you'll be walking into and some specifics about how to make this delivery a success.
Requirements
- Must have a reliable method of transportation, valid license and clean driving record
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs repetitively
- Must be able to walk while transporting food in carts, bags, boxes, etc.
- Fluent in English
- Excellent knowledge of food, drink, and service
Compensation
Driver rates are $20/hour + event bonus + mileage. We offer a 2 hour minimum for deliveries.
