Last September, we had the pleasure of catering the film premiere of "Thomas & Friends: King of the Railway," which was hosted at The Grove. I have to tell you, this is probably one of my absolutely favorite events to date. I really wanted to create not only a creative menu but a unique experience overall for our clients. I'm all about presentation and creativity - and this was the perfect event for it.
To start off, we came up with a delicious menu of seasonal bites that were both kid and adult friendly. We included everything from fun comfort food like flavored popcorn and s'mores to unique options like roasted pumpkin crostinis and cucumber-boursin sandwiches. As you can see from the menu below, I really enjoyed coming up with the thematic names on the menu! When you have the opportunity to thematically name a menu...you take it! Our client also really wanted to ensure our menu had healthy options for the kids. So in the spirit of anti-junk food the menu was designed with health in mind! :)

Presentation was also key as we wanted to make sure we really incorporated the story and concept of the movie into the event experience. We created an assortment of tea sandwiches that were cutout into train shapes. I also decided to substitute the typical floral tray decor for mini toys of Thomas and all his friends. One of my personal favorite details was displaying our signature red velvet cake pops into color-coordinated boxes that once put next to each other formed Thomas's train body. And as you may know by now, the Bite team loves to dress up for film screenings....what better outfit to rock at a Thomas the Tank movie premiere than that of a stylish train conductor!?
