Planning a Halloween Party

Planning a Halloween party can be a lot of fun, especially if it's an opportunity to bring together different personalities at the office or reconnect friends. We recommend making sure you have a few things to make your Halloween party special!

• Set expectations if you have a timeline: Especially here in LA, expect people to drift in and drift out as a default. If you have a timeline for specific things, make sure you set the expectation on the invite (i.e., costume contest voting starts at 12:15pm...and think about if you're building in some start delay or you need everyone running right on time)
• Think Through the Flow: Are guests arriving in a certain spot? Can you give them something that kicks off the party for them? A key attention piece (take pictures with the skeleton) or a welcome apertif (a bubbling test tube) can really set the mood for each guest at your event...just make sure you plan so you don't keep everyone in line during the busy times to get in
• Create a Memory: What's the thing you want your guests to remember about your party? Is it a cute display or drink station or costume? Make sure you've got it set up so it stays in good condition and is "photographable" for a time period everyone can reasonably experience it
• Make Connections: Everyone has a mask, whether they're wearing one or not. Are you creating the places for people to break bread, hang out at high tables, check out a display and connect on how cool it is? The best part about events is finding shared connections and people who make you smile...
